Though I myself am not a helper I have some advice that I think is useful
First, I think it’s very useful to read this post if you haven’t already, it gives you information on what helpers do, and it also gives information on how they’re selected.
Edit - (And of course, if you’re aiming for helper via application make sure to put lots of detail, effort, and personality into your application. Showing who you are and being unique ((along with everything else)) is very valuable in my opinion)
