I’m legit the last person on the planet that would either defend or agree with something the admins are doing, but I gotta say most of yall are overreacting. I’ll admit the sorrow chest change on PAPER sounds like some buns, but everything else is perfectly fine.
Ima sound like Candle for a sec when saying this but the season hasn’t come out yet… for all we know cheater could be trolling us with this post.

Honestly, I get you paid for a rank for its one perk but making survival less pay to win by removing keep inventory isnt a big deal. Its a normal thing on regular survival so why isnt it fine here. I think before trying to say all this stuff, you should try it out when it releases before having a meltdown over it.
I’ll try it out. I’ll play the game. But I highly doubt I will like the changes because we will die more with the fly nerf. If a phantom hits me when I’m high up I’ll die and then have to pay to get my stuff back. Doesn’t that seem dumb? I never had an issue with Munchy being p2w because I know servers need revenue to stay up. Cheater himself said that chest of sorrows was for new players so then why the hell would you mess with the rank features. I’ll try the damn game but it just pisses me off that they claim to listen to the community but they didn’t listen to 90% of the poll results. I know multiple people who’ve already said they’re quitting over this and that’s valid. They don’t feel heard and they’ve lost trust in Munchy because of lack of community engagement. I’m headed down that path too. I loved this server and the friends I made, but at this point I’m pretty over it. If things change though, I 100% want to play again. I don’t like competitive survival. I like making things and digging holes. I like being able to fly without fear of just dropping out of the sky because of a phantom. And because we can’t sleep to mitigate phantoms it will be an issue. You can say I’m having a fit all you want but all I’ve been doing this whole time is showing how these changes will negatively impact survival and Munchy as a whole. I guess I’m confused.
A poll was conducted over a year ago asking about S4 feedback and it seems that people were mostly in favor of the perks that ++ and the global ranks perks offered on survival. A lot has changed community wise in one year’s time (different players, different items, different versions), but reading the feedback on these threads, the overall opinion that active players have that I’ve seen is that the perks should remain the same. So I’m not sure where these larger changes are coming from.
I’m also wondering, if Fly Tokens are a thing, and Fly Tokens are being buffed to have longer duration and speed boost, why do we need both a buff and a nerf on the two things that allow you to currently fly? In my opinion, it would make more sense to make the Fly Tokens cheaper with those buffs and make players more aware that they exist (seems some people don’t even know they’re a thing) than nerfing the perk.
A similar argument is why not add temporary fly with a cooldown to a crate item? That would also boost the gold economy by adding more things of high value and worth that people can sell. (The perfect item for this imo would be unbreakable item with slow falling after the fly effect wears off or maybe even an elytra so that if the cooldown ends you can land safely).
In terms of the Chest of Sorrows buy back for your inventory, I think that’s a great thing for players without ranks or that don’t have a rank that gave keepinv. I find it disappointing that this perk is being removed from the ranks and think things would have been more balanced just by adding this feature to buy back your inventory as a non ranked player.
I’m sad to hear people are ready to quit the community over this, but I can understand that they feel this way with these core perks being removed from ranks. I do feel like I’m losing out on my moneys worth by losing these perks too. I hope this feedback and other feedback is taken into consideration.
On the flip side, I am excited for a lot of the new content/features being implemented this season. I think these things will help keep the game fresh and exciting for new and returning players. I look forward to seeing what’s all in store for S5.
Hey Vivian. Like you, I loved this server for a number of years and have many great memories. I supported this server greatly, but then I pointed out some of the issues that are reflected here, such as the lack of community engagement, and now I no longer actively support the server and have severed ties with the very people who are responsible for these issues, the same people who I spent years working and playing alongside. I gave up my positive relationship with the team when they were unwilling to take sufficient measures to fix things around here and restore trust and what-else between themselves and the community. Frankly, it feels like there is no one in my corner anymore to support me–not in Munchy, not anywhere–because I decided to stand firm in my beliefs in the face of adversity. I gave up quite a bit by openly conveying my dissenting opinions within my respective circles; in fact, I think it’s safe to say that I have lost pretty much everything at this point in regard to my Minecraft prospects.
I had, and still have, ambitions of doing great things in this game, but without the support of those who I have spoken against, it seems like my vision is increasingly escaping me. Every day I wonder how things would have turned out for me if I had just kept my mouth shut or feigned agreeance instead of saying how I truly felt about certain things, no matter how outlandish my stance would be perceived. But ultimately, I know that despite the outcome of my actions, I did good things for my community and no one is ever going to contest that. My legacy is made, and so is yours.
The reason I’m writing to you is because although you are clearly in opposition to the changes being made, you still concede to the responsible people by saying you will still play the game. This is why they are able to get away with disregarding the community time and time again. Because no matter what action they end up taking here, it’s very probable that in time this whole situation will blow over, people will grow to accept what they originally contested, and your opposition will have no reason to change their ways.
I commend you for stating your obvious discontent with this decision, but now I urge you to stand by your word and demonstrate its truthfulness. Do not play the game. And tell everyone you know to do the same. You won’t make much of a difference on your own, but if it’s true that there are people who are willing to quit for this, you should all make a concerted effort to issue consequences to a server who does not cater to the wishes of the community. This way, your voices will either truly make a difference by forcing the change you want to see, or the server will suffer greatly for it. Make them feel like crap by not participating in the update they spent time working on. Don’t play on the server at all and especially don’t support them financially. For those with ranks, make a support ticket and ask for a refund in response to the removal of perks and see if they’re willing to settle with you. And if not, you absolutely have the right to dispute the transaction with your bank and attempt to get your money back (you will get banned from the server, but it shouldn’t matter to you; this is simply another way to control you). We, the community, are the ones with the power to influence, not the other way around. Don’t give up and let them win so easily.
They still have time to make the right choice and claim to be assessing the collective feedback, so hopefully, it doesn’t come to this. But if so, you shouldn’t allow them to walk all over you. You should walk away instead.

I’ve kinda felt like I’m crazy for being so wildly against these things, but this post has given me the comfort that I’m not the only one who’s willing to stand up for their beliefs like this. I definitely take everything you said to heart and if they don’t change anything, well then I do quit. I won’t play unless it’s reverted, and I really appreciate your response. I’ve heard a lot about you, and know you were a prominent player and voice in your heyday so it’s great to get guidance from you. Thanks for standing by me and everyone else who disagrees with these changes and how munchy is run.
Hey cattech I feel the same as vivivn about all of this and also I love this reply and I agree with it all. But I just want to say there will always be people to support you, over a year ago I once was telling people I have almost no one that supports me til I realized how many people I told. You got people, you’re a smart individual and one of the wisest on here and I know heavy is the head that wears the crown but keep that head up king 
Okay, some of the changes are nice. However I as many do disagree with the keep inventory change and the fly exhaustion
As for keep inventory, the chest of sorrow is a great idea, however I do think that ranked players should have it for free, or maybe a certain amount of times for free per month so that the rank perk still has an advantage over those who didn’t pay for it at all. (Maybe 5-10 times a month depending how op it would be with that much.)
As for fly, I think the fly exhaustion should be changed a bit. The nerf itself is alright, and I may not understand it fully, but maybe instead of one second, make it a bit longer.
This will probably be my only reply to this post, so if you disagree, please do not argue with this reply.

Nerfing previously available perks (especially if players purchased them from us) is a very difficult task. We knew that we’d be walking a thin line and therefore we made the changes announced above with careful consideration of players on both sides of the argument.
From the feedback I’ve heard so far, I think we hit a sweet spot with our changes to the ++ rank. However, we evidently underestimated the pushback that our changes to the Elite rank would have. I genuinely thought that these nerfs would be much less controversial since their impact is rather small. I was probably wrong to announce this at a time where you cannot yet test the changes and instead let your imaginations of “horror scenarios” run wild.
That being said, I have followed the discussions closely and with great interest, and I have heard your complaints. We will make the chest of sorrow free to use for people who have purchased an Elite or Legend rank. Maybe we can revisit this topic at a later time once we all had a chance to play around with the system. I’d like to ask you to keep further feedback to yourself until you had a chance to experiment with the changes and can give meaningful, and constructive feedback.
However, I would like to say that I am quite disappointed in some of you for how you’ve decided to voice your opinions on this topic. While the tone of the discussions has been mostly civil, I am shocked by the accusations and baseless assumptions being thrown around and how you’ve riled each other up. I understand being upset or unhappy with changes, but there’s no reason to let it turn into blind rage. I hope you’ve all had a chance to cool your heads and reflect on this.
Let me finish on a positive note. Ross and I are super excited to finally share all of our hard work with the rest of you, and I am sure so are all of the builders and staff members who helped put this update together. Please keep the (constructive) feedback coming, so we can all have a great time together. Always remember that we made this update for you, the survival players.

Thank you for listening and taking into consideration how the community feels. While not what I had hoped for, as in, leaving things for ranked players as they are, it is at least a reasonable compromise. So far as fly and all the rest goes, will have to see how it plays.
