Dispensing water should be allowed on a claim. No one can really grief if it’s their own claim. Just don’t add anyone to the claim if it’s a farm.
I just spent an hour building a farm with dispensers only to discover that dispensers can’t dispense water xD.
I completely agree with this. I also did that when I first joined, with a wheat farm. I don’t see a change like the one suggested having a noticeable impact on griefing, especially as there is already a risk when adding someone to a claim. If you can place water from buckets, I don’t see why you shouldn’t be able to dispense it (as opposed to lava, which cannot be placed or dispensed).

Until something like this happens, if you need water in farms or stuff just have pistons holding back some water and you can retract the piston so the water can be used.

Dispensers don’t dispense water.
Trapdoors =/= Dispensers

I think it’s a matter of definition.
I think that using pistons or trapdoors would be better than using dispensers because you need to manually put the water back in the bucket. I might be wrong though.
Nah I’m pretty sure dispensers can collect the water again, but don’t quote me on that xD
