In realms afar, where the virtual unfurls its screen,
Sensations wane, a numbing in-between.
Joyous moments once adorned this place,
Now veiled in toxicity, anger’s grimace we face.
Once resounding with laughter, players in symphony,
Now echoes bitter silence, a melancholic elegy.
This place, once a haven, took a dire twist,
No longer home, it’s sentiments we’ve missed.
Visages fleeting, virtuality’s frigid caress,
Yearning for days when vitality did impress.
As time dawns, alienation’s shroud descends,
A once-warm community fades, a bitter blend.
Change is but a whisper, an enigmatic call,
Not in the world, but within, the greatest fall.
You’ve grown, transformed, not as once before,
As the wise proclaim, the river’s changed.
Yet still, oh how distant it feels. So near yet so far. Within sight but out of light.
Desperately I gaze, as you sail away, we both silently sway.
Distant.
