Hello Everyone! Hope y’all are doing well!
My idea is to add a /gradient command in which we could select 2 hex colour codes in the chat, for example: /gradient [color 1] [color 2].
In this case, suppose if we select a color code from blue to cyan, whatever we type in the chat turns to a gradient text of the colors blue and cyan!
This is a similar command to /rainbowchat but with more color options.
Another alternative instead of typing the hex colours could be a custom player gui, which had like concrete blocks to showcase the colours available for the gradient, for example, Blue, Red, Green, Lime, Pink, Purple, Aqua, Cyan, etc.

its a bit like a rainbow chat, but you but a bit more custom

they mean a gradient like this:
however it would only work on 1.16+ servers so wouldn’t be possible on 1.8 servers
this is also already possible to do but legend is required and its very confusing

if this did get added it would have to be a legend command, not ++ like /rainbowchat

Yup, but as rat replied, it’s a bit more complicated,
So, It could still be a legend rank command and be there so that people don’t have to enter the color code for every letter…

This was meant to be a survival only command like /rainbowchat but now that I think about it, It’ll be a great addition to legend rank perks!

how about instead of this command generating a color gradient, you can input two coordinates on a graph to find the gradient between them
say I write /gradient (3, 1) (2, 4) then it calculates the gradient using slope formula being m = (y2 - y1)/(x2 - x1) and outputs the result so I can pass my math exam?

In my opinion, I don’t think this would get used very much outside of a couple instances and maybe for in game event announcements. What separates this and colour codes is that colour codes are easier to use and you can change them mid message. It would be a very cool addition though.
