MunchyMC's Most Memorable Members of 2019

Hey Munchies!

With 2019 coming to an end, it is time to look back at this year and thank those who have been committed to improving our community during this time. This server is full of kind people and many of them have achieved some impressive milestones that I'd like to honor in this post. I have nominated 5 players in each of the categories: "Best Newcomer", "Best Community Member", and "Best Staff Member" and you guys get to vote on your personal Munchies of the year 2019!

At the bottom of this post, you will find some exciting statistics about Munchy’s most active members of the year!

Best Newcomer of 2019

I would like to start off our community awards by highlighting the achievements of those who have just joined our little community in 2019. These people have worked towards the improvement of our servers from day 1 and have been remarkably successful at that. While we appreciate everyone’s good deeds, it is especially impressive coming from a new player!

Blocker__

As one of the rather unsung heroes of 2019, @Blocker has been working for months on end on one of our biggest build projects of all time. Building a custom outside map for the newest iteration of our prison server has been a very tedious and labour-intensive task that Blocker had to face mostly on his own. For over 8 months and in absolute secrecy, he has been working on a map that just didn’t seem to ever get finished due to its sheer size. During this time, he has established himself as Munchy’s most active builder of 2019, even though many of you may not have seen him online a lot since his recruitment earlier this year. Thank you, Blocker, for this amazing piece of art.

Examiner

Now a well-respected Senior moderator on Munchy, @Examiner first joined our servers in January of this year and impressed us with his commitment to our community from day one. Just 2 months after his first login, he already managed to become a moderator and surely he did not stop there. In record breaking time, he was promoted twice more to become a Senior Moderator. As such, he has organized a kitpvp clan event, pushed forward our efforts to develop a Survival Games server and now also supports our Newsletter team. Thank you for such an impressive year, Examiner!

Fumaz

While many of you may not know this Italian gentleman very well yet, @Fumaz has been a junior developer at MunchyMC for the past few months. He first joined our server in July 2019 and is looking to become the main developer in charge of our woolwars server. While you will not see any of his work in this year, he is expected to start rolling out woolwars updates in early 2020. We’re very grateful that someone finally pays some attention and respect to one of our oldest gamemodes that has been neglected for way too long now. Thank you for taking good care of this forgotten piece of MunchyMC history, Fumaz!

Hi_Im_Mikey

@Hi_Im_Mikey is yet another acquisition by Munchy’s build team this year and he produces maps at a pace and quality that is really mind-blowing even to experienced builders. Especially near the end of the year, he has shaped Munchy’s appearance like no one else has with the release of 2 themed kitpvp maps (for Christmas and Halloween), the entire prison inside map (with help from igotchu) and a winter themed hub. All of these maps have been loved by the community for their extremely high quality, but even more impressive is how quickly Mikey can construct such masterpieces. Thanks for making Munchy look pretty!

Ibby

Survival has certainly been the gamemode of 2019. We managed to grow it from a small new server into its own community that is largely independent from the rest of Munchy. While Survival is full of amazing players, no one has been more influential within the survival community than @Ibby. She has functioned as a role model and a communicator between admins and players throughout the year, not to mention that she is also one of our 2019 newcomers and also one of the very first survival staff members! It is safe to say that a large portion of survival’s success can be attibuted to her efforts. Thank you for that, Ibby!

Best Community Member of 2019

Next, I would like to take a look at the rest of the community. In this second category, I would like to focus on members of our community who have contributed in ways that are outside of the staff team. Some of the nominees may be ex- or current staff members, but we will be honoring them for the work they have done without their mighty powers! This is a call to everyone and a reminder that you can make a difference regardless of your position and power. Every little contribution helps!

AriesGrill

As shown by the stats at the bottom of this post, @AriesGrill has been by far the most active member of our forum community not only in 2019, but also in all-time statistics. Even before her recent promotion to a forum moderator, she has been constantly contributing to our forum community by commenting on ideas, welcoming and helping new players, and reporting poor behaviour. Her personality makes the forums more lively and her dedication makes it more orderly at the same time. Thank you for that, Aries!

KittenKatja

While @KittenKatja’s idea posts don’t always get exclusively positive feedback, she is constantly changing and creating her many suggestion posts for the betterment of the server. Just how valuable these inputs really are can be observed in Munchy’s first community creator event this November. KittenKatja took the competiton by storm, achieving both a 1st and a 3rd place with her kit designs. Thank you for your input, KittenKatja!

Sadneo

This nomination might come as a surprise to some of you since @sadneo’s time as a Munchy Staff member came crashing down in a “scandal” earlier this year. Naturally, we do not endorse any of the actions that he has been accused of in that situtation but we shall also not ignore the good deeds he has done for our community as a staff member and more importantly as a member of our event staff. His reputation has always (and probably still is) remarkably high within our kitpvp community and his events were beloved by many. During his time as an event member/mod in 2019, he has given away more than 200 days of free Elite to the community. Thank you for that.

tealeafy

Considering that @tealeafy has been a moderator on MunchyMC since the spring staff recruitment, it might come as a surprise to some of you that he is listed in this category. While he has been an amazing staff member ever since, I would like to highlight his contributions in the months prior to his promotion. As a returning member to our community, tealeafy has shown himself to be extremely committed to keeping the server as free of hackers as possible by submitting many helpful player reports nearly every single day. With pinpoint accuracy, he has helped us ban at least 60 hackers over the span of 2 months, only counting forum reports. Naturally, it came as no surprise when he was finally rewarded with a trial mod position in late March. Thank you for your efforts, tealeafy.

xShrek

As another very recently promoted staff member, @xShrek finishes of the list of nominees for this category. Similar to tealeafy’s nomination, I would like to highlight his work behind the scenes rather than his work within the staff team as a helper and most recently as a moderator. More precisely, I would like to highlight Shrek’s work within Munchy’s bug team as one of our primary bug reporters this year. Reporting bugs is probably one of the most unnoticed way of contributing to a betterment of a server but it is also one of the most important ones. Nasty bugs can ruin the experience for many of our players and xShrek has been determined to getting as many of them fixed as possible. Thank you for your awareness, Shrek!

Best Staff Member of 2019

Lastly, we will be awarding this year’s biggest honor. Munchy’s staff team is the backbone of the community and the sole reason for the server’s success. It is filled with a huge number of incredibly hard-working members committed to improving the community. To wrap up our community awards, I would like to thank the most outstanding of our staff members for their amazing and irreplaceable work.

BFI01

Maybe more than anyone else, @BFI01 has had an incredibly eventful year here at Munchy. He started off 2019 as a normal moderator and was promoted twice in just over 2 months, rushing through our Senior Moderator position straight to admin in the process. As one of our most oldschool members, this sudden rise through the ranks was definitely well deserved. Additionally, he has also founded the official MunchyMC newsletter team to take over CatTech’s legacy and has been working hard as an administrator ever since his promotion especially in improving the communication between the admin and mod teams. Thank you very much, Beefy!

Callahan

For many, many years now, @Callahan has arguably been the most important figure here at Munchy and 2019 has been an exceptionally strong year for him. While being the driving force behind the development and maintenance of our new and incredibly successful survival server he has also developed our new anticheat “Ares”, pushed updates to our kitpvp and build servers and kept the website updated. To anyone remotely involved with Munchy, it is clear that no one could ever replace this magnificent reindeer. Thanks for everything, Callahan!

EsioTrot

Similarly to BFI01, @EsioTrot has gone through 2 promotions in 2019, starting off as a Junior Moderator and going into the next year as a Senior Moderator. Saying that these promotions were deserved is probably an understatement. As one of our most active moderators, Esio is near the top of every chart when it comes to activity. Especially noteworthy are his efforts in the event team where he has given out a total of 236 days of Elite to the kitpvp players in 2019 alone. Over the course of 2019, he has certainly been the most active moderator on Munchy, helping in nearly every aspect imaginable. We’re very greatful to have you, Esio!

KawaiiGrill

Despite his inactivity in the second half of the year, @KawaiiGrill has been an outstanding member of our staff team, earning an easy nomination for the best staff member of the year. He’s managed to be promoted to Senior Moderator in less than a year after his initial trial promotion which already is an incredible feat! Furthermore, he has amassed an insane number of bans, easily outbanning every other staff member despite being active for only the first half of the year. After his promotion he has also been very actively helping players with their appeals and support tickets which is an incredibly important job on Munchy. We all hope to see you returning to this amazing form, KawaiiGrill!

Varmetek

As the main developer of our prison server, @Varmetek has been working very hard all throughout the year 2019. Besides the release of 2 entire prison maps, he has also been working on regular content updates, bug fixes, optimizations and much more. He’s brought a ton of joy to our large prison community and is loved by many, making him a great candidate for our last nominee in this category. Thank you for all your hard work, Varm!

Honorable mentions

Since the nominations were limited to 5 per category some very amazing people have not been able to secure a spot on the polls. Of course, I still cannot name every important and influential member of the community here, but some of them missed a nomination by so little, that they deserve a shoutout here regardless! I will also limit this category to 5 people.

• @Antfrost has been excluded from the polls since he is the head admin, but his work is still incredibly important for Munchy and we cannot thank him enough for all that he does!

• @Nikolas has had a similar year to BFI01 with 2 promotions to Smod and Admin in a short period of time. He has also been one of the most active staff members this year!

• @Ranger_Gilan is one of the most talented builders Munchy has ever had and is responsible for the most beautiful map we have ever had the pleasure of releasing to you guys: the MunchyMC hub released in February!

• @Sesaline has spear-headed the growth of survival in the early days of the gamemode as a mod and was one of the most important members of 2019 despite her resignation in April. She is also responsible for the initial promotion of Ibby!

• @TheRedvelvetCake has been our most active prison moderator for a long time now and has been rewarded by being the first moderator to receive server-specific admin perms for his amazing work. If you need help on prison, he knows it all!
