HELLO GAMERS!

We’re almost there… Can you believe it?
For the first time in over 2 YEARS.

A PROPER KIT UPDATE!

A massive thank you to @cahrypt and other devs (idk who exactly worked on this but yeah).

This first KitPvP update is mainly focused on Quality of Life improvements, Bug Fixes, and some shiny new stuff. A larger update will follow after (No ETA for now) which will have even more shiny stuff.

New Prison Staff!
The applications have been reviewed and as many of you have seen, there has been a new batch of staff! I’d like to give a warm welcome to the new Prison Helpers @NaoIsHere, @ItsSnowyAmelia, @alexisytical and @zetsies! There has also been one new Prison JMod!! @jessixac, welcome to the team!

Item changes
While there were no new Items added this month, a lot of existing items were adjusted and/or buffed! Especially in the category of Items used for mining, there have been a bunch of buffs! Happy mining!

III. Survival Development Update & Community Poll

With 1.20 coming around, Survival had a Dilemma seeing as the server is currently very laggy at times, now there is a solution for this, but we would have to give up some cool features temporarily. More info and the poll to vote for the options can be found here:

Heya Munchies! With 1.20 around the corner, we have found ourselves in a dilemma and would like to hear your feedback. Moving into the summer, we can either keep survival as it is (and perform a regular update as you are used to) or we temporarily disable custom mobs (this means all custom bosses and custom model pets) for the summer in order to greatly increase the performance of survival. This means, constantly high tps (low lag) no matter how many players are online or what they are doing. …

IV. Mob Vote #1

We are very fortunate to have an extremely cool Resource Pack on the server, which allows us to use custom models for basically everything! This also means we can add all custom mobs to the server, and we thought, why not? But of course we would want to add a mob that the community actually wants, so that is where first official Mob Vote comes in!

Woolwars free for all

Have you ever wanted to fight your friends? Have you ever wanted to fight all your friends? Have you ever wanted to fight all of your friends while playing on a map that bricks your computer any time your render distance rises above two chunks? Oh boy, you missed out. The woolwars free for all was huge, chaotic, but most of all, very fun. Congrats to @Gavot for winning!

Community Art Highlights!

Hello and welcome back to the art highlights! There was loads of beautiful artwork this month but I’m also happy to say that there’s another artist interview! I have done a fair share of interviews before and just had to continue what Atterax started!

I'm very excited to share my first artist interview with you all. It's with the wonderful Borke_sun (also known as Brooke_sun) and she posts amazing artwork both made traditionally and digitally. So let's get right into her interview!

• How long have you been practicing art for, and what started it?
Art has been around me since I can remember. Starting as a toddler who drew stickmen and houses and clouds, and slowly moving into sketching and finding my own art style. As for practicing like actually taking art classes, it’s been around 3 years. As a child, I always believed that learning art would take away the creativity part of my artworks, until I found a teacher who listened to what I wanted to draw, and helped me with my skills.

• What is your favorite part of the process behind making a new artwork, and which part do you think is the hardest?
My favourite processes behind making art would be the planning part, because it allows my mind to picture something I want to draw, and unleashes the creativity. Another one is looking at the end result, and seeing how far I’ve come from the start. The most challenging part for me would be pushing myself forward, since I lose motivation really fast, and towards the end of many pieces parts of my mind just tells me “Good enough Brooke, now remember that new idea you had?” While the other part is saying “Argh this happens every single time, you gotta finish what you started!”

• Do you think your art style has developed, and if so how do you think it has developed?
Has my art style developed? It really depends on when you start counting. I’ll just go with covid to present. As a self taught artist at the beginning, my art style was mostly 2D. I was a fan of a book series called Warrior Cats, which gave me the inspiration to draw cats. It started with cats, and then moved on to many more animals, horses mostly. And to all who didn’t know, I am a big animal lover XD. After finding my teacher, I moved into realistic sketching, and learned to add shading and texture. I still draw animals, and my teacher is currently really tired of this because I refuse to draw anything else ahah (poor him). As of currently, I’m still figuring out my art style. When sketching realistically, it’s more based on techniques rather than art style. But I do (kinda) have my own style which I developed in doodling, it’s mostly line art with no shading on paper, and online I enjoy using colors and shading, without lines.

• What is your favorite work of art that you’ve created?
My favourite artwork I created would be the lion I drew some time ago, which one of my classmate named Floof. I love this art piece because the lion seems to have an expression, and also since it is one artwork which I had fun in the process of creating. Another thing would be the shadings, it looks like the sun is shining from the left side, giving it a feeling of depth.

• What are a few funny moments you remember related to art?
1: Once when I lost all my motivation to draw in art class, I decided that it was a good idea to log on to Minecraft. What I wasn’t aware of was the fact that my teacher was right behind me, until he made a coughing sound. I looked back, and he was staring at me like this: , and I just stared back at him like this: _​:eye: . Oops…
2: I have a habit of graphing something without looking at it from a longer distance, and it has resulted in many failed attempts at art. Can any artists relate?
3: Another funny memory is also from art class. It was during break, and one of my friend decided to take a picture of me, which I tried to block with a sketchbook. He then had the best idea ever: write the words “I am dumb” on the blank sketchbook page, and airdrop it to everyone in range. We laughed it out late though, the teacher found it really amusing.
4: I’m not sure if Minecraft builds count as art, but I will add one of my most memorable moments in here. This happened during the Viking longboat build contest. Me and my friend Full0fHuskies decided to give it a try, and I just couldn’t resist from messing with the head of the build. I don’t think we submitted it, but I am very pleased with the monster out of a horror game I created.
