Hi gamers,
I realised I haven’t made a topic today, plus I have a topic for you all.
If you weren’t aware, it is incredibly easy to see what people are reporting in the hacker report chats. This is because if you are on mobile/tablet and have in app notifications turned on, you can see what people type in the channel. (On pc it works a bit differently, but there are ways to enable you to see exactly what people send in the hacker report chats)
My proposed solution to this is adding some sort of ticket bot that can solve this issue from one of two perspectives.
1: Directly messaging the bot with your report and evidence. This would mean that staff members would have to somehow have access to what users message the bot.
2 (The better option): The bot creates temporary channels to give users a private channel to message a staff member about their report. This would mean staff members have access to these channels and would be able to close them once the report is dealt with.
anyways i like the first idea more than the second for the simple reason that discord has a limit on channels (Either it’s 100 or they boosted it up to 200?). For the sake of ensuring that limit is never reached and a cheater can’t be reported, I’d rather it just goes as a one message. Maybe give it a modmail type of system which allows you to write back through the bot incase you need to talk with the guy.
If you want to have notifications on for all reports, go on I guess. I doubt anyone has that.
And still, if they really really wanted it to be anonymous they could just do it via the website.
It’s not necissarily anonymous. It’s just preventing people from checking the history of the report channels.
Sure, but most of the time you don’t need to report someone anonymously and the chance of them actually seeing it is like 0.001% since they’re most likely not going to have notifications on or going to be watching that chat at that exact time.
If you really really want it to be anonymous you can take a tiny bit of your time to simply go to the support page and report them there.
there’s no reason for this lol
part of the reason it was disabled was because the constant back and forth of mods and players looked very unprofessional
the issue of privacy isn’t a huge one as there’s other options if you’re worried (and if you are worried, you’d bother getting on your desktop) plus very very few players have notifications turned on for the server, let alone the report channels
