You convinced me, I really do believe that you had the right idea rolling out this change and waiting for community feedback. That being said, your approach is way too passive.
One of the main critiques I and many others have of Munchy nowadays is that there’s little to no communication between admins and the community (with the latter including lower-ranked staff members). You drop bombshells out of nowhere without notifying absolutely anyone then sit back as the crowd goes wild.
Let’s compare your approach with @cahrypt 's approach back in May 2023. You both rolled out massive gameplay changes - the main difference being you threw out an update without anyone knowing while crypt’s update was completely based off of a feedback thread that he initiated. Your update caused the creation of this thread - a messy debate that’s full of shouting and negative comments. Crypt’s update was preceded by this thread, and he managed to make the 2nd most toxic gamemode on the server have the most civil discussion I’ve ever seen in the KitPvP forum. Not only that, but please take a look at the feedback this update had when it was finally rolled out.
You can’t stay passive and stare from afar. This just isn’t how it works.
Please also keep in mind that cheater posted a total of 5 threads leading up to the season 5 announcement. Any of those threads would’ve been a fantastic spot to stop for a moment and say “hang on guys, do you agree with what we’re doing before we actually announce it?”
